
About Patrick McGovern...
Pat McGovern has practiced and taught Planning over
the past 18 years. He has worked in state and local government,
and represented private clients in land use and environmental planning, and
facilitated community participation.
He has taught Urban Planning to
professional planning students in California and Michigan, including
the University of Michigan, Cal Poly and UC Berkeley.
He completed law school at UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) and is still an inactive
member of the California Bar. He practiced law for more than 20 years,
representing small businessmen, local governments, school districts and
public employee unions.
He returned to UC Berkeley to complete an MCP and PhD in City and Regional
Planning, publishing work on suburban edge cities in California. He
has taught planning studios in Detroit, Michigan and the Bay Area and
Central Valley of California.
